Studying numismatics
There are currently no degree courses in numismatics as a major or minor subject on offer anywhere in Switzerland. Training is usually provided as a specialist subject as part of an archaeology or history degree.
Courses are sometimes also offered as part of other programmes such as religious sciences, history of art or economic history.
The Institute of Archaeological Sciences at the University of Bern currently offers lectures in ancient numismatics as a specialist subject as part of its archaeology degree.
The Departments of History at the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne regularly offer lectures in numismatics. Other Swiss universities intermittently offer lectures in numismatics.
